Thir journal chronicles, fosters, and represents commercial motoring in all its branches : it has a genuine circulation and genuine advertisement support; members of its Editorial staff possess practical experience and knowledge of the construction and use of commercial motors.

Two special articles were promised for this issue.

These will be found on pages 523 and 531. The first, from the Editor's pen, deals with certain advantages which are peculiar to Manchester as a distributing centre; the second, from a driver contributor, shows how trouble and loss may follow the illconsidered purchase of a second-hand vehicle.

Trials were accommodated by Messrs. Jennison, the proprietors, was but a fleeting display. Our illustrated report will be found .on pages 516 to 522.

Lancashire men have now turned round, and many of those who witnessed and lost money by the pioneer work of 1902-1903 have been themselves placing orders. It might be invidious to mention names, but the importance of their action cannot be magnified. True, the excellence and regular running of 1909-model steam wagons is sufficient to make anybody who "went through the mill " in the early days long for another chance to cover the same ground under the improved conditions:
