Cabs: Three 2.5m flat-floor cabins – in ascending order: 1) The ‘StreamSpace’ (also called the AeroSpace by Merc’s engineers in Spain) with 1.97m headroom throughout; 2) The ‘BigSpace’ cab with 1.99m headroom throughout; 3) The ‘GigaSpace’ with a maximum headroom of 2.13m.
(The New Actros cab line-up also includes a 2.3m wide StreamSpace cab with a flat floor). Engine: The current Euro-5/6 engine options are based around the 12.8-litre OM471 in-line six available at: 421hp, 449hp, 476hp and 510hp; with torque outputs of 2,100Nm, 2,200Nm, 2,300Nm and 2,500Nm respectively. The first three ratings are also offered with ‘Top Torque’ where you get an additional 200Nm when the truck is in 12th gear. Gearbox: Latest ‘PowerShift 3’ 12-speed direct-top two-pedal auto-box with the standard economy setting, which includes Eco-Roll (but no kickdown) or the optional Power Drive programme.
