a 32.5-tonne GVW Foden 6x4 drawbar rig from North Riding Garages of Middleton St George. It has a 21-tonne payload and is powered by a Caterpillar air-to-air after-cooled 224kW engine through a nine-speed Fuller gearbox.
The unit features Eaton rear axles fitted with diff locks and cross-axle locks for off-road traction, as well as Monolex wheels and AirTrac rear suspension. The day-cab chassis accomodates a 5m aluminium platform and a rear-mounted Hiab 080 21-tonne crane.
Foden says the 21-tonne drawbar payload compares with 19 or 20 tonnes on a comparable eight-legger.
