Mr. J. F. McConnell has joined J. Collis and Sons Ltd., mechanical handling engineers, as technical sales representative in Scotland and North East England, and Mr. R. Alcoek has been appointed to a similar position in the North West.

Mr. P. C. H. Newton, who became chairman and managing director of General Motors Ltd. recently, has joined the board of Vauxhall Motors Ltd. The Minister of Transport has appointed Mr. B, Shorten and Mr. J. Lloyd-Morris as members of the Transport Users' Consultative Committee for Wales and Monmouthshire.

Mr. N. H. Dean, general manager of The Yorkshire Traction Co. Ltd., is to retire shortly and the company is advertising for a replacement.

Following t h e retirement of Mr. Noel Marsden as managing director of Kelly-Springfield Tyre Co. Ltd., Mr. N. W. Willis has been appointed to succeed him. Mr. Marsden entered the tyre industry as a salesman with the parent company in 1928. Mr. Willis, who is 37, joined

Kelly in 1957 as district manager and became sales manager soon afterwards.
