• A 1-ton battery-electric fork lift truck, claimed to have possibly the longest life cycle in the UK because of its 480Ah battery, has been introduced by Montgomerie Reid Ltd„ of Bramley, Basingstoke.
It is known as the MR201_, and balance weights have been abolished as the full counter balance is provided entirely by the extra battery weight.
Although the turning circle is only 59in. and the overall length 65in., the IVIR2OL will handle 2,240Ib at 24in, centres: the addition of a side shift only de-rates it to 2,0001b.
Among the many extras are an overheadload guard, high hysteresis tyres and an ergonomically designed driver seat.
Optional extras include Thyristor control and a choice of duplex, full free lift and triplex masts, giving a lift range from 72in. to 180in.
