THE TRANSPORT AND ROAD RESEARCH LABORATORY is carrying out a study on the nature of the forces applied to road surfaces by the wheels of goods vehicles and the extent to which they are affected by the mechanical design of the vehicle. Stating this in the Commons, Kenneth Clarke, Parliamentary Secretary for Transport, added that the work was now well advanced and he was satisfied that it met present needs.
