The Exhibits of the S.A.G.A.M., Bernard, Paquette, Leon Bollee,, Unic, Panhard Levassor and Cottin-Desgouttes Concerns

LAST week we gave advance information regarding many of the exhibits at the forthcoming Paris Show, which opens on November 28th. We now have further news of the proposed exhibits of several well-known makers. Representatives of The Commercial Motor will report the Show in a later issue.

Amongst many gas producers which will be seen in the • Salon, the S.A.G.A.M., a French machine, has certain points of special interest. This outfit is arranged to use either wood fuel or lignite. The latter, in the form of "brown coal" from Germany. is cheap in France, as huge quantities has been delivered as reparations.

Inverted Furnace Generator.

The generator is of the inverted-furnace type, the central portion being pierced with a double row of air intakes, which accelerate the combustion of fuel

and ensure its distillation. By the S.A.G.A.M. system tar and other products may be separated from the gas.

The popular Bernard Six will be supplemented for 1932 by a 71-ton eightcylindered model, the engine of which develops 150 b.h.p.. A feature of the new chassis is the mounting of practically all controls on the steering column. The chassis follows the lines of the Bernard Six.

One of the strongest claims put forward by the Bernard Co. for its chassis B40 is accessibility, writes our Paris correspondent. It is maintained that any cue of the three principal units, engine, gearbox or rear axle, can be dismounted in less than an hour.

The Paquette concern, which specializes in commercial-motor coachwork, will exhibit a great variety of bodies, including, amongst others, a fine van body designed on novel lines and mounted on a Rochet-Schneider chassis, and two bus bodies on Lath l PB and PB2-type chassis.

An interesting exhibit will be the new Paquette two-wheeled trailer having an ingenious patented coupling which can be locked instantaneously from the driver's seat. When locked, the tractor and trailer form a six-wheeled vehicle, which can be manceuvred in reverse without difficulty. An imposing trailer exhibit on the Paquette stand will be a gigantic beer tank.

The Leon Boll& Co., which has once again become purely French, will show a new 3-ton chassis available with either a four or six-cylindered engine, the chassis being identical in both cases. _ In addition to its range of petrol vehicles, the Chime concern, which holds the manufacturing rights for France, will be showing several chassis with Mercedes-Benz oil engines.

New Oil-engined Chassis.

The complete range of PanhardLevassor industrial vehicles " will be shown without change for 1932, but a new oil-ens'ined chassis will be exhibited, as also will several vehicles having the Panhard gazogene which uses charcoal fuel. Several important improvements are embodied in the latest Mercedes-Benz oil engines.

The Cottin-De,sgouttes concern will exhibit a 22 h.p. ambulance with the company's curious system of independent wheel suspension. A fine coach and a polished six-cylinder chassiswill also be shown.
