Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A DIRECTOR OF A failed company has been granted an 0-licence for a new firm formed to take over the work of his previous operation.

McCann Waste Management had gone into administration; Wigan-based McCann Waste Managers appeared before North Western Deputâ– .,TC Elizabeth Perrett seeking a restricted licence for eight vehicles.

Appearing for the company, Jonathan Back house said the fact that the previous company had gone into administration did not mean MD James Manning was unfit to run a company operating vehicles, in the absence of any formal criticism of Manning's role as a director of the previous company.

Backhouse pointed out that businesses failed for all sorts of reasons; he told the DTC that the new company hoped to buy old company's assets from the administrators. That was a perfectly proper means of safeguarding jobs and the business, as well as obtaining the maximum return for the creditors. Manning said McCann Skip Hire and J&B Associates were dissolved when their businesses were merged into McCann Waste Management .The business was successful until last September. An associated company, McCann Plant. held an 0-licence.

Evidence about McCann Waste Management's administration and the new company's financial standing was heard in private.
