Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Securicor Omega Logistics has launched an owner-driver scheme designed to help drivers become "their own bosses".

The Ownway scheme allows owner-drivers to work under their 0-licences within Securicor Omega's network logistics service, BlueNet. Each Ownway driver is allocated to a depot but can collect and deliver loads from any of the firm's 52 sites in the UK and Ireland.

(hvnway manager Paul Ward says the scheme helps HGV drivers, whether employed by Securicor Omega or not, to be "their own bosses with a guaranteed level of revenue-earning potential each week".

Promised benefits include an initial 12-month contract, discounted services such as fuel bunkering and tyre maintenance, and the freedom to work for other firms while contracted to Securicer.

Sales and marketing director Steve Cole says the scheme was prompted by employees and outside drivers enquiring about opportunities for ownerdrivers. To date 25 drivers have joined the thvnway scheme.
