rrHE • annual conference of the Institute of Cleansing Superintendents will be held in Dublin from June .13th to 17th inclusive. This conference is arranged in order to afford an opportunity for representatives and officials of public authorities to meet and to discuss the many problems that arise in connection with public cleansing work, not only on the technical side, but on the administrative side. it has been found that these meetings are of value in stimulating an interest in .cleansing and are much appre
elated by members of local authorities and the officers engaged.
An inspection and demonstration of the latest mechanical appliances used in the work of public cleansing is being organized. The demonstration takes place at 10.30 on the morning of June 13th in the roadway in St. Stephen's Green South. Meetings of various committees and of the council will take place during that day, and again: on the Tuesday, a paper being read during the morning, whilst in the afternoon there will be an inspection of mechani-'
cal vehicles and appliances for cleansinework in the roadways adjoining the Marine Estate. A dinner, concert and dance will be held in the evening.
The conference will be resumed on the Wednesday, whilst the other event of that day will be the annual dinner at the Mansion House.
On the Thursday two papers on cognate subjects will be read, and visits will be arranged in the afternoon to Gninness's Brewery and Jacobs's factory. There will he an excursion to
Glendalbligh.On Friday.
