• Blackpool Corporation Transpc successfully applied to the North Weste. Traffic Commissioners in Manchester ( Tuesday to increase most fares on its b and tram services.
Mr W. 0. Jolliffe, borough treasurer, h told the Commissioners that without t fare increases there would be an accurn laced deficit from both services of £230,0 which would be carried forward into t new financial year. He said the deficit h been brought about by increased overhea and salary and wages awards. It anticipated that the increased fares wot yield an additional £154,000.
Joint operator, Lytham St Annes Corp ation Transport was also included in I grant, which will allow the two und takings to increase fares, mainly by lp w mileage revision, coming into effect April 1.
