The Associated Equipment Co., Ltd., has opened a sales and service depot at 14, Talbot Street, Nottingham. It is under the control of Mr. A. Gammon, who was well known as the manager of the A.E.C. branch in Birmingham until it was closed some tine ago. A large stock of spare parts will be carried so that the requirements of operators in that area can be met with the least possible delay.

• An Engine Stand of Good Design.

Good engine stands being such an essential factor in overhaul work, attention may well be drawn to the Empire , patent stand introduced by F. R. Eve, Ltd., of Old Bedford Road, Luton. Suitable for engines up to about 100 b_h.p., it is 8 ft. long, 3 ft. 9 ins, wide and 3 ft. 3 ins, high and the trade price is £22 10s. The stand is made from malleable castings and steel forgings. The layout and means for operation are well indicated by the accompanying illustration. The engine may be fiXed 5 ins above or 5 ins, below the axis centre and can be rotated into any position by one mechanic. The brackets may be moved and fixed in many different positions and the side frames can be fixed parallel or inclined to each other. Tie rods are provided for use when an engine is being run in by belt from line shafting.

Oil.engined London Buses.

In view of rumours that are circulating to the effect that the London General Omnibus Co., Ltd., is putting into service a very large number of oilengined buses, readers should note that we are able to state officially that such reports are untrue. There are at present a dozen oil-engined vehicles in the L.G.O.C. fleet, three being of the ST type and nine of the LT type.

Summer Long-distance Services.

On April 10th a paper entitled "Longdistance Services for Summer, 1931," is to be read before members of the Omnibus Society by Mr. C. Lees, its chairman. The meeting will be held at the Institute of Marine Engineers, Minories, London, E.C.3.
