its frames a treat

• To make its bodywork more resistant to corrosion Southfields is fitting pre-treated steel frames as standard to front and rear bulkheads.

The slimmer sections are galvanised: thicker items such as corner posts are electroplated to BSI706ZN. This gives the surface four times the corrosion resistance and a smoother base for final painting.

To enhance preparation and final coating quality Southfields has also installed a 16m, 41mhigh spray booth. It features neutral air pressure adjustment. balanced air flow to prevent turbulence and a micro-processorcontrolled direct gas firing unit that provides automatic changeover from spray to bake control.
