The juggernauts are causing concern to the people of Nettlestead Green, near Maidstone, Kent. They are using the Nettlestead-Yalding road as a short cut to the motorway. The road is being badly damaged and signs are being uprooted.
Mr John Ferman, of the Maypole Inn at Nettlestead, is to send a petition to the authorities. He is most alarmed that a Norman bridge over the River Medway is in danger from heavy juggernauts.
A ban is suggested on all vehicles over 3 tons — except those with business in the area.
