Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A SURVEY on articulated vehicles which looks at the suitability of tractive units currently available on the market has just been completed.

The Road Haulage Association-sponsored report was commissioned by 20 lorry, trailer and major component manufacturers.

The research investigation involved over 400 operators throughout the UK representing both road haulage and own-account businesses. Manufacturers expressed the view that the survey had been a success.

Other subjects covered in the survey include levels of specification, the strengths and weaknesses of different makes of maximum weight artics, operators' views on the Armitage proposals, and the likelihood of taking advantage of higher weights and specification design alterations required to operate at these weights.

A paper on the report will be presented at the RHA Conference at Torquay in October.
