Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Manchester-based rentals company TLS Range has bought out Interleasing's fleets from its Wolverhampton and Manchester sites.

Last month TLS was understood to be talking to the Cowie Group subsidiary about the sale when Cowie closed several of its spot rental sites (CM 3-9 January).

Managing director Clive Miller says TLS wants to strengthen its presence in the West Midlands. Business is satisfactory for the company, he says: "It's running to plan. We're not doing the volumes of two or three years ago but we can't grumble." TLS now has a fleet of nearly 1,400 CVs.

Cowie Group financial controller Steve Lonsdale says that Cowie Interleasing's remaining spot rental sites at Kidderminster, West Bromwich and Stoke-on-Trent are continuing to trade normally but would not comment on the company's plans for the sites.
