• Quicks, the Northernbased lveco Ford dealer, is to supply 75 12.5-tonne Ford Cargo 13.13 rigids to TNT in a deal worth £1.4 million.

The 75 trucks will be fitted with box bodies and used on nationwide collection and delivery work. Iveco Ford vehicles now account for 15% of all the trucks in TNT's fleet.

• Following its previous £2 million order for 95 MAN/VW commercials last Autumn (CM, September 27), BRS Truck Rental has placed another £2 million order for 112 MAN vehicles.

• Lowfield Distribution has won the contract to distribute confectionery products for Famous Names throughout the UK. The contract is scheduled to commence as soon as Famous Names' existing distribution arrangementshave. been concluded.

• A network of 25 motor dealers from the Chatfields-Martin Walter division of the Coate Group is entering the contact hire business. Spokesman David Stonham says his dealers can offer competitive rates by cutting out the contract hire middleman. ChatfieldsMartin Waiter offers most vehicle makes.
