Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TULIP HAS awarded Gist a iveyear transport contract worth £50m, that was formerly managed by Wincanton.

Hampshire-based Gist will provide food irm Tulip with regional distribution of raw and inished pork products between factories and wholesale and retail customers, with effect from 27 March.

Tulip put the contract to tender following a review of its logistics operations. Wincanton was not allowed to tender under the sale condition terms of Wincanton’s chilled business to Culina Logistics in 2009. Some 60 Wincanton employees in the West Midlands and East Anglia are moving to Gist under TUPE regulations, and 20 HGVs are being transferred to Gist’s leet.

Andy Hopkins, Tulip group logistics director, says: “Gist is a specialist in the chilled supply chain, which meant we could be conident that our strict temperature controls are in place at all times.” Meanwhile, up to 30 Wincanton staff could move to Fowler Welch, which will take over the Tulip factory clearance operation at Spalding, Lincolnshire, also managed by Wincanton.
