When you write (CM November 26) that the NEDO report on the nationalised industries has identified confusion and lack of trust between politicians and civil servants and the National Freight Corporation, you not only misreport that document's findings but gravely misrepresent our relationship with our sponsoring Department.
The NEDO report does not attribute its strictures to particular state industries, and your reporter makes an unwarrantable assumpion in applying them to NFC_ He particularises from the general a dangerous practice. The Coprporation has enjoyed businesslike and effective relationships with its Ministers and civil servants under successive Governments and even we do not see eye to eye, the Department and the
