• Building materials distributor RDL increased pre-tax profits to £2.6m, up from £2.1m in 2004. Turnover rose £3.5m to £57m. Joint MD Kevin Hornsby attributes the results to organic growth.
• Pre-tax profit at Northampton-based EM Rogers (Transport) fell from £36,900 to a loss of £91,000 for the year ending 31 January 2006; turnover rose from £11.3m to £11.9m. MD David Rogers says the company's performance was affected by investment in its Dutch operation, EM Rogers By, and by trying to compete with East European hauliers.
• Meachers Group recorded pre-tax profits of £364,000 last year, with shareholders enjoying dividends of more than £500,000. The Southampton holdings company boosted turnover to £17.6m.
