The route, which links Bangor with Cardiff, is jointly operated by National subsidiaries National Welsh and Crosville. It has now been extended to run until November 26, when it will again be reviewed, The operators claim the service has been popular with tourists, students and old people and that a surprising number of passengers have stayed with the bus for its entire eight-hour journey.

Traws-Cambria operates one service in each direction four days a week and links Cardiff and Bangor with Merthyr Tydfil, Builth Wells, Dolgellau, Porthmadog and Caernarfon.

The works, which started as a tram manufacturing unit, then became a bus body-builders and is now a bus overhaul unit, will also be the scene of an exhibition by a dozen of the suppliers to the PET on the open day.
