CITY OF CARDIFF Transport has changed its vehicle policy again and is ordering 72 newtype double deckers jor delivery between 1981 and the spring of 1985.
It is taking 36 British Volvo B55 front-engined models with Northern Counties bodies, and 36 of Leyland's Titan-derived chassis with East Lancs bodies.
General manager David Smith told CM that 18 buses will be delivered each year, and that the deliveries in some years will comprise both types.
Mr Smith described the order as being the standard intake for "the first half of the next generation" of Cardiff buses.
