Voith Engineering has announced the appointment of Alan Morris and Peter Smith to its transmission division. Alan Morris is the new sales engineer, previously employed on research and development on fighting vehicle transmissions with the Ministry of Defence. Mr Smith joins Voith from London Transport, where he was a bus development engineer and subsequently a component test engineer.
John Bradley has moved to become Seddon Atkinson's new marketing manager, taking up this position last week. He succeeds John Heur who is returning to his native America with International Harvester, Seddon Atkinson's parent company.
The Road Transport Industrial Training Board has named Miles Furlong as group training officer for the Bristol and District Carriers Group Training Association.
Before joining the RTITB in 1977, Mr Furlong was an industrial relations and training manager with National Carriers and, before this, operations manager for Pickfords Tank Haulage at Stroud.
