• Nine Hustler curtain-sided pallet trailers — the latest addition to the commercial body range of Southfields Coachworks Ltd, Loughborough — have been ordered by Pre-Star (Luton) Ltd.
The Pre-Star fleet will incorporate a new side-curtain fixing and tensioning system developed by Southfields Coachworks in conjunction with Load-Lok cargocontrol manufacturer, Package Control Ltd, Crowthorne, Berk s.
Downward tension of the 40ft-long draw-back curtains on each side of the trailers is applied by means of 16 nylon webbing straps, fitted with Load-Lok quickaction self-tensioning buckles. The straps snap-on to fittings attached to the curtains and, on release, swing under the trailer chassis to eliminate the possibility of curtain tangle.
