• The Minister of Housing and Local Government has turned down three planning appeals concerning the proposed development of land at Todhills. Cumberland. on the A74.
The appeals were made by Mrs. L. E. Sunley. owner of a café on the A74. and although the Minister felt that the development proposals, mainly in respect of lorry parks, a transhipment area, repair bay, restaurant and toilet facilities, were desirable, they were dismissed until more comprehensive development plans for that area were decided upon.
