Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WHETHER THE 1982 Motor Show will attract as much attention as the two previous ones remains to be seen. However, it seems unlikely that anyone other than a genuine buyer or an enthusiast will be prepared to involve themselves in the expense of a curiosity visit to NEC.

The scarcity of pre-Show publicity around the country cannot have helped boost attendance, This Show is coming in on tiptoe in its stockinged feet. The public generally is quite unaware it is happening.

What a pity, since there are a number of new exhibits which merit attention. An even greater pity is that the road transport industry could be missing a big opportunity.

The Show is not only about selling vehicles. It is about selling transport also.

NEC is a show case for both freight and passenger transport. This is where the industry can do much to convince the man in the street that heavy vehicles are not a menace to his way of life, but a contributory factor to its quality.

The Show is also the place where the passenger transport operator can win customers by showing them the armchair comfort of today's coaches.

But will the juggernaut image be altered? Will psv operators woo passengers from cars and rail? We doubt it. There is no sign that anything is being done even to take parties of parliamentarians to Birmingham. And so the industry lets yet another platform slip from under its feet.
