Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I WRITE to say I was disappointed in the way a Most eXCelleilt set of results for the Strathclyde PTE 1984/85 was summarised in your publication (CM, November 2).

While the heading -Strathclyde arrests years of declinewas encouraging, the Figures quoted for revenue support are completely misleading. Page 1.4 in the report states that the revenue support to the PTE bus operation has been significantly reduced over the past five years in the order of approximately 50 per cent ii) monetary terms or approximately 60 per cent in real terms, while still maintaining a similar level of service. This has been as a result of the Strathclyde policy of continually improving operational performance and reducing costs wherever possible. Alan R. Westwell
