A RESOLUTION urging the Govern1-1 ment to issue a standstill order on the withdrawal of rural bus services has been prepared by the South Wales and Monmouthshire branch of the Rural District Councils' Association. It calls on the Minister of Transport to enforce the order until he has decided what kind of assistance he is able to give to rural areas in South Wales by way of subsidizing bus companies.

Mr. D. D. Thomas, chairman, said the branch should point out to the Government, that a sound transport system was essential to rural areas.
