• German specialist trailer maker Goldhofer is developing a rear-steer system which, it says, will have an "almost maintenance-free" steering head and an integrated lubrication system—it is expected to appear at this year's Hanover Show. Goldhofer also plans trials with electronically steered trailers.
• Foden is the first European truck maker to take the latest 3176 10.3litre Caterpillar engine with its Hydraulicallyactivated Electronically controlled Unit Injector system (HUB). The sixcylinder 3176 will be offered in the 3000 Series.
• Lutterworth-based Skylift National Access has set up a lorry-mounted access platform hire division, initially with 20 vehicles with Sky King and Bronto Skylift equipment fitted to Iveco Ford and Volvo chassis.
• Dutch heavy haulage trailer maker Nooteboom has developed a quicker mounting integrated twoaxle front dolly which can be added to its existing range of Eurolowbed trailers to enhance carrying capacity and loading flexibility.
• Citroen has launched a Relay 1800 17-seater school minbus which meets current and proposed European safety legislation. The conversion is carried out by Advanced Vehicle Builders and includes strengthening of the chassis to which the seats are attached. All seats are Forward facing.
