The newly-appointed chairman of Karrier Motors Ltd is Laurent Brisset. He joined Saviem in 1971 and was director of finance and budget controls before becoming director of finance in 1976. In 1978 he became chairman of France Vehicles Industriels SA, the Renault Vehicules lndustriels (RV!) distribution company. Jean Rigollet has become managing director of the Dodge operations in Spain.
Roger Sansom has taken on the role of distribution consul'tent for the contract services department of National Carriers with responsibility for setting up and co-ordinating national contracts. He became a management trainee with BRS in 1967 and was previously operations manager with Publishers Book Delivery Service. Before joining PBDS, Mr Sansom spent six years with Freightliner.
Paul Merryweather has succeeded Clifford Foxlee as company secretary designate of National Bus subsidiary company, Eastern Counties. Mr Merryweather is currently company secretary with Midland Red, having joined the company in 1978 as operational development manager. Previously, he had followed a career in local government finance which included posts with several London and non-Metropolitan councils.
David Lansdown of Chas H. Lansdown and Sons has been elected national president of the Coach Operators' Federation.
A new member of the Avis Truck team is Bob Mongell who has come from Avis Leasing Corporation in the USA. Mr Mongell has been appointed director, lease development, Europe.

Obituary We record with regret t death of Reginald Fetherston former chairman and governi director of Thomas Meadows ternational Ltd. Mr Fetherst joined Meadows in 1912 and L came chairman of the compa in succession to his father 1923. He remained in this po tion until 1955 and continued governing director until shor before his death. He was founder member of the Institi of Shipping and Forwardi Agents, now the Institute Freight Forwarders Ltd.
