ANOTHER Ford industri, dispute, this time at the cor pany's Halewood body asser bly plant, has resulted in lay-of at plants throughout the cou try.
As we went to press on Tue day, the strike by 10,000 Hal wood men had resulted in further 2,000 being laid off at tl Halewood transmission plar 5,000 at the Dagenham body ar assembly plant, and 3,000 at ti Southampton Transit van plan.
The Halewood dispute r volves round the company new disciplinary code whii shop stewards want to see wit drawn.
A meeting between the Trar port and General Worker Union and the company was ta ing place as we went to pre but had broken up by la afternoon.
