• The Post Office is prepared to have another look at the possibility of providing a mini postal bus service in Norfolk.

Mr. Joseph Slater. the Assistant Postmaster-General, gave this promise in the Commons last week, though he pointed out that the Department had no immediate plans for such a service.

An appeal for the Post Office to come to the rescue of rural Norfolk and provide this "imaginative service" had been made by Dr. Hugh Gray (Labour, Yarmouth).

He backed up his case by pointing to the under-population in the area, the lack of public transport and the "failure" of the county council to provide transport for children who had less than two miles to walk to school.
