Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Final dividend recommended for the year ended December 31, 1972 will be 13.1 per cent, the Transport Development Group has announced.

Profit after tax for the year is £7.3m which compares with the £5.47m of the previous year. The Group proposes to pay the dividend on May 11, subject to approval of shareholders and to any order made under the Counter Inflation Bill at present before Parliament.

A professional valuation of the freehold and leasehold properties made at December 31, 1972 totalled £34,634,000. The directors have considered it prudent to adopt an aggregate valuation of £30,099,000, consequent uplift of £8,645,000.

The company adds: "The New Year has begun well. Profits to date are ahead of those for the corresponding weeks of last year and there is a flow of traffic that has not been felt for some time."

TDG'S annual general meeting will be at the Great Eastern Hotel in London on Friday, April 27.
