NATIONAL Carriers Contract Services have appointed Jim WindsorHarvey as Contract Manager for the recently signed Argos Distributors Limited, based at Castleford. At the same time Jim Cornwell has moved from NC to the board of F. W. Woolworth. Mr WindsorHarvey, 45, moves from Warrington where he was NCCS Contract Manager for Fiat (UK) Limited. Previously he was Contract Manager on the F. W. Woolworth account from 1978 to 1982.
His career started in 1959 when he joined the London Midland Region of British Rail as a parcels clerk.
He joined NC North West Region in 1974 at Rochdale as Operation Manager on the F. W. Woolworth contract.
Mr Jim Cornwell has been appointed a director of F. W. Woolworth. He was previously general manager of National Carriers Contract Services distribution contract for Woolworth stores.
Based at Camden in London, he controls the collection and delivery service at eight Woolworth operating centres which, together, represent a large part of the merchandise sold in the Woolworth stores in Britain.
He joined National Carriers in 1968 as assistant area manager at Manchester and, in 1970, became midland area traffic manager in Birmingham.
