HAROLD RUSSETT, immediate past national chairman of the Road Haulage Association has received the OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Mr Russell who is managing director of his family's express carrier company — Premier Transport in Bristol — has ,served the RHA at local and inational level on a number of committees. Mr Russett was elected junior vice-president of RHA in 1978. He has been actively engaged in restructuring the association during the past two years.

Other honours have been awarded to transport people in the manufacturing and research sectors.

The CBE goes to W. R. Alexander, chairman of Walter Alexan der, the Scottish coachbuilder for services to export. The same award is made to Cedric Ashley, director of the Motor Industry Research Association; Ron Mellor, director Ford Motor Company; J. Cowley Department of Transport.
