A COMPLETE switch to single-deck, oneman operated buses is planned by Luton Corporation Transport during the next eight years. Its first five single-deckers go into service on July 2. Five more are due for delivery in September, all Bristol REs with Eastern Coach Works 48-seat (plus 18 standing) front-entrance, central-exit bodies.

Luton's general manager, Mr. R. M. C. Baschy, told COMMERCIAL MOTOR that the change would be gradual. Luton's latest double-deckers were delivered in November 1965 and it did not want to "throw them away".
