THE Greater London Council should strike out unsuitable locations before it carries out its proposed experiments with bus-only lanes, says the June issue of the TRTA's journal Industrial Road Transport.

Stressing the penalties faced by goods vehicles, the TRTA claims that only limited benefits for public transport could be secured by the few locations where bus-only lanes are feasible. Careful consideration may prevent other traffic authorities from "being swept up in a busonly lane hysteria".
