IN JULY 1984 I bought my first Ituck and started on my own doing boxes out of Tilbury. And 25 years later I'm still going... God only knows howl That first truck was a Volvo F88 290; it was an ex-Mair Transport Tilbury, who I subbed for.
Next was an ex-Russell Davies Scania lii (I think it was a 330).
Brand new in 1988 was a 3 Series Scania 360. The next one was an lveco Eurostar — with the build quality of an Airfix kit. Then it was an ex-SCS Transport 4 Series 400.
Then I bought myself an ex-Romantiek BVBA, all-singing, all-dancing V8 580 4 Series.
Finally, my present ride is an R Series 470, which I'm blinging up bit by bit.
But unlike Queen Elizabeth, I don't think I will be reaching my Golden Jubilee,
