Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I view the growing trend toward the transplanting of "pods" on the top of day-cabs. I understand well the increase in capacity, but surely they represent a retrograde step for safety and driver comfort and environment.

My goodness, why not enlarge the chassis box and snuggle up to oil-cans and wheelbrace and enjoy the comfort of your toolbox?

As an extra bonus for capacity why not make a cab for one man standing up all day and all night? If the drivers' work and hours regulations were slightly more relaxed then we would never need to go to sleep at all and no sleeper and space would be required. What a capacity that would provide!

For myself, I have dusted off the foam and boards that graced my Big J for years, as I feel they may come in handy again!
