Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Chassis Developments, the Leighton Buzzard-based specialist vehicle convertor, has produced the first extrashort-wheelbase Renault Truck Industries G16 Commando rigid for International Distillers and Vinters as part of an order for 18 conversions, worth around £50,000.

The standard, 3.94mwheelbase G16 Commando, which has been downplated by RTI to 15 tonnes, has had its wheelbase reduced to 3.45m by Chassis Developments, which also fitted Neway air suspension to the rear axle. The modified Commando will be used on IDV's demount box body operations, and has been converted by Chassis Developments as RTI no longer offers a 3.45mwheelbase version of the 15tonne GVW Commando.

The Neway air suspension consists of two trailing arms, connected to the chassis by pivot brackets, with conventional air bags. Axle location is maintained by a lateral panhard rod and an inline torque rod. A connecting beam between the two trailing arms acts as an anti-roll bar.

Normal chassis height on the short wheelbase G16 is 904mm, but for demount operations it can be raised to 1,032mm or lowered to as little as 869mm.
