Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IF SCOTLAND gets a 'yes' and is accepted as a new member of the EU, will Scottish hauliers be subject to a 40-tonne max, 4m-high limit and no running on Sundays like other members? Will lorries entering Scotland be

subject to these rules in the same way as vehicles entering mainland Europe? Already Brussels is rattling over double-deck trailers running to Ireland, just for conformity within the EU.

Commonality of regulation throughout member states is a key part of the Brussels ethos. Britain is not popular in

Brussels because of our hard-negotiated concessions.

It is difficult to envisage a dispensation for Scotland, or any other new entrant, particularly one that would give them a significant commercial advantage over existing member states. E A McLaren Evesham, Worcestershire
