Law updated

• The Freight Transport Association has published its Yearbook of Road Transport Law for 1997. The new edition, the 35th year of publication, introduces an updated section on driver licensing to take into account recent changes, and expanded information on operator licensing, health and safety and on the sale of vehicles. It also includes an address section listing relevant authorities and agencies together with general information on the FTA.

• The Health and Safety Executive has a new leaflet highlighting the occupational risks to drivers of back pain caused by work. The leaflet suggests what action employers can take to protect workers from back damage caused by vibration.
