• Spalding Haulage and 19 of its existing and former drivers are to appear before magistrates on a catalogue of tachograph charges.

The Lincolnshire-based reefer operator, which was bought by the BOC Group in May 1992, is charged with 22 counts of permitting drivers to fail to take their weekly rest period. And the Vehicle Inspectorate has also brought 48 charges of failing to produce record sheets against the company.

The drivers were due to be called before Elloes magistrates on 22 Feb. The company, which employs 100 drivers in total, is still awaiting a date.
