Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IT IS £1.27/L1T FOR diesel at our local BP forecourt on the Isle of Sheppey and the indications are that fuel prices will rise further before Christmas.

Are we all set for the duty increase in the New Year? And are your customers prepared for that particular increase? I bet your customers are going to pay without even blinking an eyelid (in your dreams). It won't be long before they kick us UK operators into touch and use the foreign trucks that are already working in the country.

I applaud the Road Haulage Association (RHA) for its survey asking members are paving for diesel. It shows an increase in this core cost of 4% in just a fortnight, As I have always said, the RHA has all the tools in the box to do the job. hut how long will it be before the government gets this message?

In my estimation. with the problems that now exist within the industry, we need a body of people who have teeth, clout and the ability to tackle our problems head on with government and not shilly-shally around, as has been done for the past decade.

And what is the cause of these spiralling fuel prices? Fuel duty! Until we address this issue. UK road haulage companies will continue going to the wall.

I am prepared to fight it, Will you?
