he managed to crash into two of Buckingham Palace's gates on the same day.
The unlucky trucker, who was carrying marquees for a party, collided with the stone Garden entrance on the way into the Palace and later reversed into the main ceremonial gates.
He achieved the dubious accolade of inflicting the first damage on the gates since they were last targeted by Hitler's Luftwaffe in the London Blitz of 1941.
A Palace spokesman tells CM "The building was hit by bombs during the war. and the last time the gates were damaged were as a result of enemy action."
It is thought that the Queen. who was in residence at the Palace at the time, was not amused...
