Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A FULL Dial-a-Ride bus service is to be started in London in October. Two 16seater Ford Transit minibuses will be used on a route from Golders Green to Lyttleton Road in Hampstead Garden Suburb.

Passengers boarding at Golders Green will tell the driver where they wish to alight and he will plan his route accordingly between the two points.

People who wish to be picked up from their doorsteps will telephone a controller at Golders Green who will tell them what time to expect the bus and pass on their address to the driver. There will be radio link between vehicle and controller.

The new service — which is one of several innovational bus systems which London Transport is trying at the request of the Greater London Council — will operate every 15 minutes for 17 hours a day Monday-toSaturday. It will begin at 7am and be managed by four controllers.

Another Dial-a-Ride service begins next week in Harlow New Town and further details of it will appear in CM next week.
