EXPORT requirements are being carefully studied by Thos. Harrington, Ltd., Sackville Works, Old Shoreham Road, Hove, which has produced a standardized patent all-metal bus body suitable for the Commer Commando chassis, with left-hand or right-hand drive, It is for sale exclusively overseas and is available in the following three versions:—

(a) As a single-compartment 32sealer.

(b) As a dual-compartment 29 seater, accommodating 10 first-class passengers in the forward compartment and 19 second-class passengers at the rear, with adequate space for standing.

(c) As a 29-seater with a forward first-class compartment for 11 passengers and rear second-class saloon for 18 passengers.

In the dual-class vehicles, a partition with sliding door separates the two saloons.

• The body is built entirely of corrosion-resisting light alloys and has a central main entrance. There is an emergency exit at the rear.

Ventilation for Hot Climates Special attention hasbeen paid to ventilation. The action of ventilators located under the,cant-rails at the sides and the rear is supplemented by extractor fans and half-drop windows. A double-skin roof provides effective insulation against the sun's rays.

• Dimensions and weights of the complete vehicle are: Overall length, 25 ft. 11 ins. (7.9 m.); overall width, 7 ft. 11 ins, (2.41 m.); overall height (laden), 9 ft, 6 ins. (2.9. m.); overhang from centre line of rear axle to rear of body, 7 ft. 9 ins. (2.36 m.); interior height, 6 ft. Ati ins. (1.94 m.); unladen weight without petrol, oil and water, 9,006 lb. (4,085 kilogs.).

Apart from the standard all-metal bus body, Thos. Harrington, Ltd., is building luxury coach bodies of corn

posite construct ion for the ex port market. A typical example is a 28seater for °airliner, Bedford or other suitable chassis, with left-hand or right-hand drive. It has a sliding roof, a front sliding door and a large locker for luggage at the rear. Seats are upholstered in either a combination of moquette and leather, or entirely in leather.

By reducing seating accommodation, lavatory and washing facilities can be provided and luggage space increased, to meet the special needs of longdistance travel overseas.

Dimensions and weights are: Overall length, 25 ft. 11 ins. (7.9 m.); overall width, 8 ft. (2.439 m.); overall height (unladen), 10 ft. (3.048 m.); overhang, 7 ft. 9 ins. (2.362 m.); unladen weight, 10,360 lb. (4.699 kilogs.).
