A nine-car transporter which can be converted to a flat platform semi-trailer of 17 tons payload capacity is one exhibit on the Carrimore stand.

The peripheral frame twin-deck transporter carries a minimum of nine cars. The top deck forward extension remains fixed, the remainder of the platform — 38ft depending on tractive unit — is either pivoted at the front and lowered at the rear by hydraulic rams for car loading or is completely lowered on top of the lower deck to form a flat platform for carrying general cargo or a container.

The trailer is mounted on ROR multi-leaf tandem axle running gear and 8.25 — 18 tyres. The bogie is plated at 16 tons and gross trailer weight is 25 tons. The vehicle is limited to a speed of 50 mph.

The second exhibit is a 21-ton payload capacity tipping semi-trailer. The monocoque body is of 36 cu yd capacity and is mounted on lightweight construction two-member I-beams. Monoleaf road springs are used on the Carrimore running gear together with 20,000lb capacity axles equipped with 16.5in by 8.625in. S-cam brakes powered by type-24 brake chambers. The trailer has two-speed Intertruck landing gear and incorporates a triple-line brake pressure system. The outfit has 22.5 — 11.00 tyres.
