/ Renault plans to introduce a low-floor version of its R312 citybus to continental operators by the end of the year, but it will not consider bringing the product to Britain until the market improves.
Renault says the new model will be available completely bodied or as a chassis frame. It is developing a low-floor prototype with Heuliez.
The standard 12m R312 has been built for about four years. It is powered by a standard 10litre rear engine which produced 152kW (206hp) through an automatic ZF 4 HP 500 gearbox. A 186kW (253hp) engine is optional.
