a perma nent Road Safety Training Centre and Exhibition will be opened by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents at 17, Knightsbridge, London, S.W.I. It will be known as ROSPA House.

The purpose of the centre is to train all classes of the community in wise road usage, and the Society hopes that it will be the forerunner of a chain of similar establishments to be opened by local authorities in the leading towns of Britain.

The councils that improve on the monthly average figures put up by them during the Spring contest from March to May this year, or, if they did not then compete, exceed the national monthly average per 1,000 of population shown by councils in their 'respective categories, will be eligible for prizes totalling £6,000.

EXHIBITION OF PLASTICS

A N exhibition of synthetic boards, plastic laminates and resin-bonded materials, some of which may find application in vehicle bodywork, was opened by Mr. Leslie Gamage, M.C., at Murray House, Petty France, London, S.W.1,-last Monday. It will remain open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily until November 13 and admission is free. The exhibition has been sponsored by the Council of Industrial Design.
